Please take a look below at some of the wonderful things the children have been doing!
KS1 went to Duxford!
Years 1 and 2 were very lucky to go on a coach to Duxford Air Museum following our History topic “How Did We Learn to Fly?” Whilst the children were slightly disappointed that the very first plane flown by the Wright Brothers was not actually there, there were lots of exciting
planes to see and the children enjoyed exploring, looking carefully and even going inside some of them. We visited some of the
hangars housing a huge number of World War I and World War II planes and were able to see some of the planes being repaired and to climb up to see inside Concord. The children were excited to see a number of planes taking off and circling the airfield, including one that impressed us and made us jump as it looped around! Of course, no trip to Duxford would be complete without a trip to the amazing play area to clamber over the wooden plane. So much fun was has by all!
LKS2's interesting visit from a historian!
In LKS2 the children enjoyed a hands-on History Enrichment Day with a historian from Saffron Walden Museum, exploring authentic artefacts that brought their learning about the past to life.
